post-pregnant feature sheet

I was thinking about it over the past few days (not too sure how it all got started in my mind), and I have realized that this poor bod of mine has really taken "a few for the team" in housing and growing two human beings. Here is a list of what is no longer the same as it used to be:

*my once thick hair is now fine and flimsy
*I lose my hair by the handfuls
*I actually sweat (honest: I never did before)
*my nails are brittle and are always breaking and flaking
*my fingers will hurt and tingle if I repeat an action too long
(i.e. holding a spoon to feed Isaac or writing with a pen)
*I get cramps (again: a new experience)
*I have a shorter memory and temper

Of course, it almost goes without saying, but I will anyway, that "it is all worth it" (of course, of course...). But still. What about you?

um, jodi, i don't see BREASTS on that list anywhere!
good glory. their glory is gone.

i dodged the stretch mark bullet and the weight gain one, but the ol' tummy is definitely a new kind of soft. it was always a little soft, now, it's extra soft - like i'm missing a bone or an organ in there.

uh, yeah. your reserved friend has trouble talking so freely about such matters in such a public space. **nervous giggling** I really just need to grow up. But I do whole-heartedly agree. They are mere husks of what they used to be: and that wasn't much. ; )

Hey Jod,

I think I can add two to your list:

* Pathetically poor posture from lugging around 22lb roly poly. I have beautifully sloping shoulders and the inability to keep a bra strap in place for more than five minutes.

* Let’s just say that after two births “laughing hard enough to pee my pants” now only requires a healthy giggle.

I have been watching your blog and keeping up with the Rietveld’s. Glad to hear the house issue is settled and that you are almost back to living under one roof. Life is crazy here in T.O as I unexpectedly went back to work on a P/T basis. I will try to give you a call this week to catch up.

Hey Steph! Great to hear from you. Your points made me laugh: we're turning into old ladies before our very eyes! ha! I'd love to catch up with you as I was just thinking about you yesterday and wondering how life was treating you. : )

I swear there are moments when I look in the mirror and I can't help but hear the tune "The Old Gray Mare..." Well at least for now I'm not Gray, or at least my hairdresser hasn't told me I am. ;)
